Risk Disclosure
Trading leveraged products carries a high level of risk. Please read this disclosure carefully before you open an account.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
01General risk warning
Trading financial instruments involves a significant amount of risk, and you can lose your money in the market. Only trade with money you can afford to lose. Trading in the financial markets, especially in forex and CFDs, may not be suitable for every investor, so make sure you understand the risks involved and seek independent professional advice before investing real money. Please read our Risk Disclosure for a fuller understanding of trading risk.
02Leverage and margin
Forex and CFDs are traded on margin, which means you only deposit a small percentage of the full value of a position. Leverage magnifies both profits and losses. A small market movement can have a proportionally larger effect on the funds you have deposited.
If the equity in your account falls below the required margin level, you may be asked to deposit additional funds at short notice. If you do not, some or all of your open positions may be closed automatically (a stop out), and you will be responsible for any resulting losses.
03Nature of CFDs
A contract for difference (CFD) is an agreement to exchange the difference in the price of an underlying asset between the time a position is opened and the time it is closed. You do not own the underlying asset and have no rights to it, such as voting rights or physical delivery.
CFDs are traded over the counter (OTC) with BlacFX Markets Ltd as your counterparty, not on a regulated exchange.
04Market risks
- Volatility: prices can move rapidly and unpredictably, particularly around economic news and political events.
- Gaps and slippage: in fast or illiquid markets, or over weekends, orders may be filled at a worse price than requested, including stop-loss orders.
- Liquidity: some instruments, such as exotic currency pairs and NDFs, can become illiquid, making it hard to close a position at a fair price.
- Overnight costs: holding positions overnight may incur swap charges, which can add up over time.
05Technical and platform risks
Trading over the internet involves risks such as hardware or software failure, connection problems and delays. BlacFX Markets Ltd is not responsible for losses caused by failures outside its reasonable control. Keep your login details secure and never share them.
06Social and copy trading
Copying the trades of another trader does not guarantee profits. A strategy provider's past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and copied trades carry the same risks as trades you place yourself.
